A Dose of Buckley #59 – Facebook Changes

Posted in A Dose of Buckley with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 23, 2011 by adoseofbuckley

This week, Facebook made some changes to their layout, and like every time Facebook makes a change, major, minor, or somewhere in between, people immediately cry and ask for it to be changed back, and make ridiculous threats like “I’m quitting, they’ll lose so much money!”. Sorry… WHAT money will they lose? And you do realize how little Facebook means in the grand scheme of things right? Buckley takes on the crybabies in this week’s Dose of Buckley.

Advice No One Asked For – Number Eight

Posted in Supplements with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 4, 2011 by adoseofbuckley

What other websites are really updating on the long weekend? NONE OF THEM! That’s who! Buckley however doesn’t really observe July 4th (seeing as I’m a Canadian and all), so I figured why not give my American fans something to do besides get drunk and shoot roman candles at each other (you can do that later tonight).

This week at A Dose of Buckley, it’s the 8th installment of “Advice No One Asked For”. I try and help a woman choose sides in an issue that I didn’t even know still existed past 1972.

Hey, you know there’s a whole website full of this stuff, right? Check it out at A Dose of Buckley

A Dose of Buckley #50 – Canada Post

So, Canada Post workers are threatening to walk out/strike/not go to work/whatever you want to call it, because they feel they’re not being overpaid enough. 7 weeks vacation time, pension, a great hourly rate for what amounts to walking around and putting things in boxes, that’s all just simply not good enough for them.

For the 5th time in 11 years, Canada is going back to the polls for a Federal Election. If this seems a little excessive to you, it’s because it is. This week: A little primer on Canadian Politics, courtesy of your favourite vulgar professor, Buckley.

Sprite “Slam” Commercial Parody

So, I’m at the theatre today and I see this Sprite commercial… and I thought it was a little bit strange, a little bit disturbing in a way but hey, I’m not going to judge. Have a look:

A favourite segment of mine returns to A Dose of Buckley this week, it’s “Advice No One Asked For”! Really not sure why I stopped doing these… I always enjoy helping people, especially those that don’t want to be helped by me!

This time around, I help a guy who’s suffering from a case of mistaken sexuality. How can he overcome the fact that women think he’s gay? Click the video below and find out!

A Dose of Buckley 37 – Facebook Stalking

Posted in A Dose of Buckley with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 9, 2010 by adoseofbuckley

First there were sites like FourSquare… now Facebook has its own “places” app that will tell your entire friends list where you are at any given time. Is this a good thing? It certainly is for your potential attackers! Part one of two of this week’s Double Dose of Buckley.

A Dose of Buckley 36 – Dexter Toy

Posted in A Dose of Buckley with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 31, 2010 by adoseofbuckley

So, you’ve probably heard the story by now… Ohio toy collector Jim Schultz walked into a Toys R Us, and walked out angry because of a Dexter action figure he found (and strangely enough, purchased, making sure the company profited from keeping the toy in stock). He said that it’s not the toy itself that he takes issue with, however he doesn’t feel it should be sold at Toys R Us alongside Barbie and Care Bears and all those other wholesome toys for children. Apparently, Toys R Us should instead only cater to children, and not make any money from the nerd population that has more money than brains and will buy any action figure that bares a likeness to their favourite TV or movie characters. But is Dexter the most violent thing at Toys R Us? Hardly… this week’s Dose of Buckley below.

A Dose of Buckley 31 – Miley

Posted in A Dose of Buckley with tags , , , , , , , , , , on June 22, 2010 by adoseofbuckley

I’ve decided to switch my updates from every Friday to every Monday. From now on, instead of ending your week with angry comedy, you can use it to set the tone for the entire week! To celebrate the change: a Double Dose of Buckley!

Dose #1 this week: Miley Cyrus tells reporters that she’s “not trying to be slutty”. I suppose, to quote fellow Disney star Selena Gomez, “It comes naturally”. I tell you, sometimes this stuff just writes itself.

A Dose of Buckley 28 – YouTube Comments

Posted in A Dose of Buckley with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on June 4, 2010 by adoseofbuckley

This week, it’s another DOUBLE DOSE of Buckley! Really, I’m just making up for my laziness as I didn’t post anything last week. I make no apologies, it’s free entertainment. I doubt Maddox will be writing any more this year, so at least I’m one up on him.

ANYWAY, My first update this week is about the mind-numbingly awful YouTube comments I see… pretty much every time I visit YouTube. It’s amazing how little intelligence there is among that entire community of morons. If the spelling and grammar mistakes aren’t enough, the sheer butchering of the language and improper use of words is enough to make you wonder if inbreeding isn’t more prevalent than thought. This update, I mostly tackle the overuse of the word “best”.
